Choice Teachers are working with Secondary School to recruit a skilled and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a unique alternative provision setting in Islington that focuses on positive outcomes for young people who require additional support to thrive in education.
About the Role:
- Deliver engaging Food Technology lessons to secondary-age students
- Plan and prepare practical and theory-based lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Inspire students to develop cooking skills, understand nutrition and enjoy food education
- Manage classroom behaviour positively and proactively
- Adapt lessons to suit a wide range of learning needs and abilities
- Work closely with a dedicated team of support staff and SEN professionals
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Strong behaviour management skills and an inclusive teaching approach
- Ability to differentiate for students with SEMH needs and other additional needs
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Passionate about making a difference in alternative education
