Sales Manager, Refrigeration
Midlands based, home working with regular office attendance
£50,000 to £60,000 DOE plus bonus

IMPORTANT: Only apply if you have sold commercial refrigeration, such as refrigerated display cabinets, to supermarkets or retail chains. General HVAC, air conditioning, domestic appliance and other sector experience will not be considered.

Join an established international group launching a new UK refrigeration division. You will be the first hire, selling commercial refrigeration to major UK grocers, with a planned route to lead the division as Business Unit Director.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS

Our client is a well respected, long established international group with subsidiaries and operations across Europe. They are a trusted name with major UK retailers, and the UK business has been chosen by group headquarters to lead the launch of refrigeration. The backing and the customer relationships are already in place. What the division needs now is a refrigeration specialist who knows the supermarket market.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The division already has traction, with stores delivered for a major UK grocer, a large cabinet tender in progress and multi store rollout opportunities with leading supermarkets. You will come in as the first member of the division, bring your own contacts and help decide how it is built. As it grows, you will recruit your own team, starting with an administrator, a technical project manager and service partners, then sales hires beneath you.

The plan is for you to step up into Business Unit Director as the division scales.

THE ROLE

* Sell commercial refrigeration to supermarkets and retail chains, through your existing contacts and new account development
* Own the sales pipeline for the new division
* Lead tenders, proposals and negotiations on cabinet supply and store rollouts
* Act as the technical authority on commercial refrigeration for customers and colleagues
* Support store rollouts through technical project management and service partners
* Build the division's structure, processes and team
* Travel to customers, with regular attendance at the office

ABOUT YOU

* Proven sales or sales management experience in commercial refrigeration, selling to supermarkets, retail chains or the contractors who supply them
* Existing customer contacts in retail refrigeration and the ability to bring business with you
* Hands on, and happy to be on the road winning business yourself
* The ambition to progress into running a division
* Experience of tenders, multi site rollouts or building a team would be a real advantage

WHAT'S ON OFFER

* Salary £50,000 to £60,000 DOE, with scope to grow as the division grows
* Bonus on target of 12.5% of salary, with the potential to double for exceeding target
* A planned progression pathway into Business Unit Director
