Position: Technical Sales & Project Engineer
Department: Technical Sales
Location: Rochdale
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Reporting To: Head of Sales
Employment Type: Full-time / Permanent

We are seeking an experienced and driven Technical Sales & Project Engineer to join our Technical Sales team. This is a key role supporting new enquiries, managing existing projects, and driving continuous improvement across the business.

Technical Sales & Project Engineer Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Technical Sales team by preparing accurate costings for new and existing products
  • Produce detailed specifications to support Engineering and Production in developing relevant processes
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers to gather and provide information essential for project success
  • Evaluate quoted vs actual production costs and recommend adjustments as needed
  • Coordinate with departments including Production, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Sales to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Work with Production and Quality teams to implement improvements to existing processes
  • Manage internal and external sample processes efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records and control all relevant project documentation and electronic files
  • Contribute to other duties as required to support business operations

Required Qualifications and Experience for our Technical Sales & Project Engineer

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in using CAD packages
  • Experience with manufacturing ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent standards
  • HND or Degree in an Engineering discipline (advantageous)
  • Previous experience in a technical sales or commercial role (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of Autodesk PowerShape (highly advantageous)
  • Familiarity with plastics, moulding, and added value processes (advantageous)
  • Exposure to process improvement or continuous improvement practices (advantageous)

Technical Sales & Project Engineer Key Skills:

  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and find practical solutions
  • Full UK driving licence required
