Location: Middleton, Manchester
Pay Rate: £13.74 per hour
Hours: 38–44 hours per week
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x after 38 hours
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 7:40am – 4:30pm
Friday: 7:40am – 12:20pm

Plenty of overtime is available.

General Labourer Job Description

Bamford Contract Services are recruiting for a reliable and hardworking General Labourer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Middleton, Manchester.

Our client operates a modern manufacturing facility specialising in high-quality, high-volume precision sheet metal fabrication. Their services include CNC punching, laser cutting, bending, forming, welding, powder coating, painting, machining, fabrication and assembly.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a long-term permanent position within a professional manufacturing environment, with regular overtime available.

General Labourer Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out general labouring duties within a busy manufacturing environment
• Using hand tools safely and effectively
• Deburring and finishing metal components
• Assisting engineers and production staff
• Moving and handling materials
• Supporting fabrication and assembly operations
• Loading, unloading and moving materials around the site
• Operating a counterbalance FLT where required
• Maintaining a clean and organised working area
• Following all company health and safety procedures

General Labourer Requirements

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment is desirable
• Experience using hand tools
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Good attention to detail
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Willing to undertake overtime when required

Desirable but not essential:

• Counterbalance FLT experience/licence
