Industrial Buyer – Rochdale
Rochdale | Manufacturing | Permanent | £40,000 – £44,000 | Working Days, 39 Hours/Week
Our large client, a well-established manufacturing business in Rochdale is seeking an experienced Industrial Buyer to join their Purchasing team. This is a hands-on, key role supporting the central purchasing function, ensuring materials and supplies are delivered to the correct specification, quantity, and price to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities

Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive prices, quality, and stock levels

Manage supplier performance and ensure KPIs are met and improved

Oversee Purchase Order system (MRP) and associated ordering processes

Collaborate with other departments to evaluate goods and services

Resolve supplier discrepancies with Accounts and take corrective action where necessary

Review supplier value to maintain competitiveness

Provide cover for the Senior Buyer when required
About You
-
5+ years’ buying/procurement experience, including 3+ years in an industrial or manufacturing environment

Experience working in an MRP environment (EFACS experience advantageous)

Strong track record of negotiating with large/global suppliers

Educated to A-Level or degree standard; CIPS Level 4 Diploma or working towards MCIPS

Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office) and full UK driving licence

Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills
