Job Title: Caretaker
Location: Rochdale
Schedule: 2 – 3 days per week | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: £14.50 per hour (PAYE) | £18.00 per hour (CIS)

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Caretaker to join our client, a reputable Build to Rent accommodation provider in Rochdale. This is a part-time position offering a competitive hourly rate and the chance to work in a professional, residential setting.

Caretaker Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and report maintenance issues in tenant rooms and communal areas
  • Prepare rooms for new tenants, including minor repairs and decorating
  • Move and install furniture, including mattresses and other large items
  • Complete siliconing tasks in bathrooms and kitchens
  • Conduct basic plumbing repairs, including:
    • Replacing and repairing shower heads and taps
    • Fixing or replacing toilet flush mechanisms
    • Unblocking sinks or drains as needed
  • Assist with heating maintenance tasks, including:
    • Servicing and basic troubleshooting of wall-mounted electric heaters
    • Reporting faults or issues related to heating units
  • Perform flush downs and fault finding on plumbing systems
  • Report defects and complete maintenance logs accurately
  • Support the wider maintenance team with ad hoc tasks

Essential Caretaker Requirements:

  • Basic DBS Check is mandatory due to access to occupied residential units
  • Strong plumbing and basic heating maintenance skills
  • Proven experience in a similar maintenance or handyman role (ideally in Build to Rent, student accommodation, hospitality, or property management)
  • Ability to work independently and proactively manage daily tasks
  • Multi-skilled approach with attention to safety and detail
  • Available to start immediately
