IT Support Officer Role

Our client, a well-established and forward-thinking organisation, is seeking a proactive and technically capable IT Support Officer to join their internal IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional to play a key role in maintaining and improving business-critical systems while supporting users across the organisation.

Acting as a central point of contact for IT support, you’ll be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to ongoing systems development, including ERP enhancements.

IT Support Officer Key Responsibilities

  • Act as deputy to the IT Manager when required
  • Provide first-line and second-line IT support to users across the business
  • Maintain, configure, and monitor hardware, software, and network systems
  • Troubleshoot technical issues including hardware faults, printing, and access problems
  • Ensure the reliability and performance of existing IT systems
  • Support the development and optimisation of the company-wide ERP system
  • Assist with IT and telecommunications asset management
  • Manage onboarding for new employees, including account setup and system access
  • Support the generation and delivery of ERP-based reports

IT Support Officer Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an IT support role (ideally within a manufacturing or similar environment)
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Active Directory
    • Microsoft Office 365
    • DNS & DHCP
    • Windows Server (2016–2022)
    • Virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Understanding of server infrastructure and database systems
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. EFACS, Syspro) is highly desirable
  • Solid understanding of operating systems architecture and performance monitoring
