Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:00

Our client a well-established structural steel fabrication company based in Walkdenare looking to appoint an experienced Fabrication Workshop Supervisor to lead and manage a busy workshop operation.

This role is ideal for a hands-on Fabrication Supervisor / Workshop Manager / Senior Fabricator Welder with proven experience in structural steel, MIG & TIG welding, and workshop supervision.

Fabrication Workshop Supervisor Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily workshop operations within a structural steel fabrication environment
  • Lead, manage, and motivate a team of fabricators and welders
  • Read and interpret engineering and structural steel drawings
  • Receive manufacturing packages from Contracts Manager / Estimator
  • Produce cutting lists and manage material ordering
  • Plan workloads, allocate jobs, and monitor production progress
  • Carry out hands-on MIG and TIG welding as required
  • Ensure fabrication work meets exact specifications and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate production records and work to ISO quality standards
  • Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety regulations and PPE usage
  • Maintain workshop housekeeping, equipment, and machinery
  • Communicate production delays, quality issues, or safety concerns
  • Support continuous improvement within the workshop

Fabrication Workshop Supervisor Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Fabrication Supervisor / Workshop Supervisor
  • Strong background in structural steel fabrication
  • Proven experience with MIG and TIG welding
  • Experience managing workshop teams in an engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety in fabrication workshops
  • Experience working to tight deadlines and solving production issues
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Hands-on, practical, and detail-focused approach
