Job Title: Payroll Officer
Salary: £27,000 – £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch break)
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Rochdale

THIS ROLE IS AN IMMEDIATE START. 

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our well-established client in the Rochdale area for an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Please Note: This is predominantly a paper-based role, so applicants must be confident working with manual systems and documentation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process the company’s weekly and monthly payroll across multiple UK locations.
  • Accurately compile, input, and process payroll data to ensure timely payments.
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processes, including year-end activities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for resolving payroll-related queries and escalations.
  • Maintain and follow payroll policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Stay up to date with payroll legislation and advise on required changes.
  • Support payroll-related administrative tasks and ad hoc projects.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ payroll experience.
  • Proficient in SAGE payroll systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of payroll processes and legislation.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Comfortable working with paper-based systems.
