About the Role
Our well-established manufacturing client in Stockport is seeking an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Biased) to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a company undergoing sustained growth and significant investment in their site.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operation of plant equipment through expert fault-finding, repairs, and maintenance. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair breakdowns on a variety of plant equipment, minimizing downtime.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to keep machinery running efficiently.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and breakdown records for all work completed.
- Monitor and update spares inventory, reordering as necessary to ensure availability.
- Ensure all equipment complies with current Health & Safety legislation and is kept in a safe working condition.
- Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings to aid troubleshooting and repair.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, managing your workload effectively to meet business needs.
- Stay calm and maintain high standards in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.
Skills & Experience
- Strong electrical bias with relevant qualifications (17th/18th Edition).
- Proven experience with control systems and fault diagnosis.
- Solid background in engineering fault finding and maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Commitment to health and safety compliance.
- Ability to work shifts and adapt to rotating schedules.
