About the Role

Our well-established manufacturing client in Stockport is seeking an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Biased) to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a company undergoing sustained growth and significant investment in their site.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operation of plant equipment through expert fault-finding, repairs, and maintenance. Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair breakdowns on a variety of plant equipment, minimizing downtime.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to keep machinery running efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and breakdown records for all work completed.
  • Monitor and update spares inventory, reordering as necessary to ensure availability.
  • Ensure all equipment complies with current Health & Safety legislation and is kept in a safe working condition.
  • Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings to aid troubleshooting and repair.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, managing your workload effectively to meet business needs.
  • Stay calm and maintain high standards in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong electrical bias with relevant qualifications (17th/18th Edition).
  • Proven experience with control systems and fault diagnosis.
  • Solid background in engineering fault finding and maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Commitment to health and safety compliance.
  • Ability to work shifts and adapt to rotating schedules.
