Junior Incident Response Analyst

Location: Derby

Salary: £25,800 per annum

An IT support company is seeking a Junior Incident Response Analyst. It is expected that the employee will develop essential skills and contribute to protecting their digital infrastructure.

As a Junior Incident Response Analyst, you’ll work closely with their IT and cybersecurity team to safeguard their systems, monitor for vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents. This role is perfect for someone eager to start a  career in cybersecurity.

KEY DUTIES

• Help monitor network activity to spot unusual behaviour, potential threats, or weaknesses
• Support the identification and reporting of security risks, and assist in resolving them
• Learn and assist with responding to security incidents, following established procedures
• Carry out basic system checks and support regular security audits to keep systems protected
• Assist with managing user accounts, access permissions, and login security
• Support the development and updating of security policies and best practices
• Work with the IT team to troubleshoot and resolve security-related issues as they arise

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
• Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
• Ability to follow processes and work as part of a team
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Awareness of security tools or software is a plus, but training will be provided
• Interest in cybersecurity and technology
