Please Note: Travel within the local area may be required. A full UK driving licence and access to a car would be advantageous.

About the role:

As part of our dynamic Recovery Operations Team at Forward Trust, you'll be working directly with individuals in our supported housing units - supporting them to sustain their recovery and unlock their full potential. You'll take a person-centred approach, offering tailored interventions and connecting people with the resources they need to thrive.

This is more than just a support role - you’ll be a key player in someone’s journey toward independence, stability, and personal growth. From forging partnerships with external agencies to helping residents navigate daily life, your work will be vital in creating a supportive, recovery-focused environment.

What you’ll do:

• Provide a tailored and inclusive Recovery Housing service, offering compassionate advice and support to clients on their recovery journey.
• Carry out detailed housing needs assessments, working closely with service users to co-create personalised support plans and connect them to the right internal and external services.
• Actively promote the service across teams and settings to encourage appropriate and timely referrals.
• Deliver a range of thorough assessments—from initial to comprehensive—ensuring care is informed, safe, and responsive.
• Facilitate meaningful 1:1 support sessions and weekly house meetings, helping clients stay engaged and on track.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation, including assessments, risk management, and onward referrals.
• Be a visible and approachable presence in Forward Trust services, promoting the Recovery Support offering to both clients and staff.
• Liaise confidently with key external agencies, including housing teams, probation services, DWP, and more, to advocate for service users' needs.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• A strong understanding of housing and homelessness support, with hands-on experience helping people sustain tenancies and navigate housing systems.
• Insight into the needs of individuals in abstinence-based recovery, alongside experience in housing or substance misuse support.
• A background in the substance misuse or related support sector, with a solid grasp of the recovery journey and the challenges people face.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload, complete risk and needs assessments, and produce clear, SMART-focused support plans.
• Confidence delivering both 1:1 and group interventions, using motivational and trauma-informed approaches.
• Experience supporting people facing multiple disadvantages, including unemployment, mental health challenges, and homelessness.
• Strong digital literacy, including use of Microsoft Office and case management systems, alongside excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
