Financial Controller

Location: Grimsby - Hybrid

Salary: £70,000 per annum + excellent benefits

Vacancy Type: 6 months Fixed term contract or Temporary

Are you a driven and detail-oriented experienced Financial Controller?  We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Financial Controller to join a growing organisation.  You will be a qualified Accountant on short notice period with experience of managing a team and managing the management accounts and financial reporting process.

About the Role

As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the company’s financial health, providing strategic insight and robust financial leadership. You will oversee day-to-day finance operations, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and play a key role in shaping the business’s long-term financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the finance team, managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting cycles
• Develop and implement strong financial controls, policies, and procedures
• Prepare accurate management accounts, forecasts, and cash flow reports
• Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
• Managing the annual external audit process and completion of statutory accounts. Control and review of the balance sheets
• Drive process improvements and implement systems to enhance efficiency
• Support senior leadership with budgeting, planning & modelling
• Overseeing the payroll function 
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and regulatory compliance expertise
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Commercially minded with the ability to influence at senior level
