Carer in an SEN Children's Home Location: Cranleigh Salary: £26,951 – £27,976 per annum Plus, an additional £1,000 Retention Bonus 33 days holiday including paid public holidays No experience needed - full training and mentoring provided After progression to Senior Residential Education Worker salary will increase to £28,232 - £29,881. Make A Difference Every Day As a Residential Education Worker at St Joseph’s no two days are the same. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our residential care team on a permanent basis, supporting young people with complex learning disabilities, severe social communication difficulties and behavioural needs. You will support our young people in their residential houses on site, outside of the school day, at weekends and during school holidays. Your role will focus on helping them to develop interests, independence and essential life skills. Working closely with teachers and therapists you will help assess and monitor each student’s progress. Your responsibilities will include:

You must be prepared to provide personal care (after full training), as some of our young people require support to remain clean and comfortable. Career Progression After two years working in the residential care team, and on successful completion of a QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare (subject to satisfactory progression and appraisal), you will progress to Senior Residential Education Worker, earning £28,232 - £29,881. If recruited, you will be required to complete Team Teach positive behaviour support training as part of your week-long induction before employment. This training is refreshed annually. Working Hours You will work 37 hours per week on a shift pattern (to be advised), which will include weekend working.
