Infrastructure Operations Manager (Interim) – 3 Month Contract – Nottingham

VIQU has partnered with an organisation seeking an Infrastructure Operations Manager to step into a critical role and provide short‑term cover.

This Infrastructure Operations Manager role requires someone who can hit the ground running, deliver strong people leadership, and ensure the continued stability of the organisation’s Windows‑based IT infrastructure operations.

The successful Infrastructure Operations Manager will focus on team leadership and oversight of the Infrastructure function, balancing BAU and project activity while providing sufficient technical authority to support the team and act as a senior escalation point.

Key Responsibilities

• Interim line management of the Infrastructure team
• Allocate, prioritise, and manage workloads across BAU and project activity
• Act as the primary escalation point for infrastructure incidents and issues
• Ensure stable operation across servers, networking, storage, and telephony
• Coordinate cross‑team and third‑party support during incidents
• Maintain ITIL‑aligned operational processes (incident, event, capacity management)
• Produce clear management and operational reporting
• Ensure documentation and knowledge items remain current
• Coach and support team members, maintaining morale and service quality

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven experience leading an IT Operations / Infrastructure function, with strong people‑management experience  
• Excellent people and resource management capability
• Solid technical background in Windows Server infrastructure and Modern Workplace technologies, including: Windows Server, Active Directory / Azure AD, Virtualisation, Backup and disaster recovery
• Experience with SolarWinds Orion for monitoring and event management is advantageous
• Comfortable working in ITIL‑aligned, service‑driven environments

Contract Overview

• Role: Infrastructure Operations Manager
• Duration: 3 Month Contract
• IR35: Inside IR35
• Rate: £450 - £500 per day
• Location: Hybrid, Nottingham
