Infrastructure Engineer

VIQU have partnered with a leading organisation seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join their expanding IT team. This is a hands-on role supporting and maintaining business-critical infrastructure and platform environments across on-premises and cloud technologies. The successful Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in ensuring platform reliability, security, and operational performance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Engineer:
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line infrastructure support across server, web, and collaboration platforms.
• Support and maintain SharePoint on-premises and SharePoint Online environments.
• Administer and troubleshoot IIS and web application environments.
• Support Windows Server infrastructure and core Microsoft technologies.
• Assist with platform upgrades, patching, deployments, and system improvements.
• Support Azure cloud services and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and security.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.
• Work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to support business operations.

Key Requirements of the Infrastructure Engineer:
• Experience supporting Microsoft infrastructure environments.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration.
• Experience with SharePoint administration or web platform support.
• Knowledge of IIS and web-hosted applications.
• Exposure to Azure or hybrid cloud technologies.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Understanding of infrastructure security and best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with a proactive and hands-on approach.
