Cloud / AWS Engineer – DV Cleared – London / UK – Up to £110,000 per annum
Are you a cloud engineer with Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and a passion for designing secure, scalable AWS environments? Morela has an outstanding role with a leading UK consultancy supporting national security and defence cloud platforms.
Core Responsibilities
- AWS Infrastructure Engineering
Build and operate secure AWS environments including VPC, EC2, IAM, Lambda, S3 and RDS to meet stringent compliance and performance requirements
- Infrastructure as Code and Automation
Streamline deployments using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible and build automation scripts in Python or Bash for efficient, repeatable infrastructure provisioning
- DevSecOps Integration
Incorporate security controls and governance into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure designs in line with defence-grade standards
- Monitoring, Logging and Incident Response
Configure and manage tools like CloudWatch and ELK Stack to maintain visibility, resilience, and incident support capabilities
- Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with solution architects, engineers and client contacts to translate business needs into practical AWS solutions
- Continuous Improvement
Drive improvements in automation frameworks, cloud security posture and delivery best practices
What We’re Looking For
- DV Clearance: Active Developed Vetting clearance is mandatory due to the nature of the environment.
- AWS Cloud Experience: Proven record deploying and managing AWS services such as VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, etc., ideally in high-assurance or government contexts.
- IaC & Automation: Hands-on with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation or equivalent, and scripting skills in Python, Bash or similar.
- DevSecOps Mindset: Experience integrating security into cloud deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure builds.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and security issues.
- Communication Skills: Ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders, articulate designs, risks, and mitigation strategies clearly.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working across hybrid or dedicated government cloud systems, adjusting approaches as needed.
- Travel / On‑Site Flexibility: Able to work on-site (client site)
