About the Opportunity

VIQU have partnered with a leading financial services company and we’re looking for a capable and motivated SQL Server Database Administrator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid‑level DBA who enjoys hands‑on technical work, supporting developers, and strengthening their skills in Azure SQL and performance tuning.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our database estate while working closely with developers and IT Infrastructure. If you enjoy problem‑solving, optimising queries, and working in a collaborative environment, this role is for you.

What We’re Looking For

What You’ll Be Doing

• Installing, configuring, patching, and maintaining SQL Server instances across development and production.
• Managing backups, restores, user provisioning, security, and scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Supporting high‑availability configurations using core SQL Server features.
• Supporting database monitoring, scaling, and general Azure SQL configuration.
• Assisting in structured Azure migration activities.
• Working closely with developers, QA engineers, and product teams on database‑related requirements.
• Participating in SQL code reviews and providing 2nd‑line support for database incidents.

Essential Experience

• 3–5 years as a SQL Server DBA or similar role.
• Strong SQL Server installation, configuration, maintenance, and security understanding.
• Solid T‑SQL skills for writing and refactoring queries.
• Experience with performance tuning techniques.
• Exposure to Azure SQL administration and monitoring.
• Experience supporting development teams with SQL‑related needs.
• Experience with SQL‑to‑Azure migration projects.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Redgate, SolarWinds, Azure Monitor).
