IT Project Manager – 2-month contract – Basildon – Outside of IR35

My Customer is looking for a hands-on IT Infrastructure Project Manager to join a fast-paced technology team supporting a complex operational/engineering environment. This role is suited to someone who thrives in delivery-focused settings and is comfortable managing technically demanding, integration-heavy programmes across live operations.

You’ll play a key role in driving forward critical infrastructure and operational technology initiatives, working closely with engineering teams, operational stakeholders, and external partners.

Skills & Experience from the IT Project Manager:

• Proven experience delivering IT infrastructure or operational technology projects end-to-end
• Experience working on Networking Infrastructure projects
• Experience working on integration heavy programmes across live operations  
• Experience working on cross functional projects that require strong coordination across IT, Operations and 3^rd party vendors
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams in parallel without losing attention to detail
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging at both technical and senior levels
• Experience in vendor and contractor management, including procurement or tender processes
• Solid understanding of networking and infrastructure delivery in complex environments
• Experience working in the logistics/manufacturing/transport industry would be beneficial

Key Responsibilities from the IT Project Manager:

• Lead the delivery of multiple concurrent IT and infrastructure projects within a live operational setting
• Take ownership of project governance, including maintaining detailed plans, RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), and reporting structures
• Coordinate across technical teams, business units, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless execution
• Run regular project and workstream meetings, ensuring clear communication and accountability
• Provide clear, concise updates to senior stakeholders and department heads
• Identify and escalate risks and issues early, with practical mitigation strategies
• Manage supplier relationships, including procurement and tender processes where required

The IT Project Manager is required onsite at least 4 days a week near Basildon.
