About the role

We’re looking for a meticulously organised People and Talent Specialist to join our People Operations team. You’ll be responsible for the accurate management and integrity of all our people data and files, ensuring it is organised and secure. You’ll design and maintain efficient, user-friendly back-office processes that remove friction for both colleagues and managers, streamlining workflows across the employee lifecycle. By proactively anticipating needs, resolving data issues, and optimising systems, you’ll ensure employment information is never a burden—allowing colleagues to focus on their work while having seamless access to the tools and information they need to succeed.

You’ll work closely with our Talent Advisor, making sure candidates are kept well-informed throughout their interview process and new joiners are set up for success with a great onboarding experience. You’ll be a key part of our small and creative team, taking the opportunity to contribute to wider team initiatives and projects.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone wanting to develop their career as a HR generalist in a small people-focussed team. The ideal candidate for this role will already have some exposure to working in a HR or People Operations team and have a good understanding of drafting and maintaining employment paperwork including employment contracts.

What you’ll be getting up to

  • Management of our People systems (including HRIS, expenses and Learning & Development)
  • Management of People files ensuring our data is always compliant, accurate and up-to-date 
  • Preparation, distribution and organisation of all employee documents including employment contracts, contract amendments and personal information
  • Assist with the recruitment process by posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks, for some of our more junior roles, you’ll assist with conducting phone screening calls
  • Coordinate our onboarding and induction process to ensure future employees have everything they need to effectively start their new role
  • Assist with employee relations matters, including notetaking during formal meetings, and investigation preparation
  • Administration and organisation of our benefits package
  • Assist with the co-ordination of employee training and development initiatives, including scheduling training sessions, tracking attendance, and evaluating training effectiveness
  • Arranging gifts for special work occasions such as work anniversaries and new baby gifts
  • Co-ordinating social events including travel and accommodation for our annual conference
  • Co-ordinate and conduct feedback sessions with our employees including check-ins with our new joiners and exit interviews
  • Becoming an expert in our core values to help us hire to them and therefore uphold and enhance our culture

In order to excel in this role you need…

  • Experience with the fundamentals of HR and the employee lifecycle, you may have your CIPD Level 3 or prior experience of working in a HR or People Team
  • To be tech-savvy – you have prior experience working with a HRIS
  • To be super organised – you can identify what is urgent and important, managing your time well
  • A keen eye for detail – you understand the importance of producing and maintaining accurate documentation
  • To be creative – you’re comfortable making suggestions and recommendations on how we can operate more efficiently
  • To be action-oriented – you thrive in an environment where there’s always plenty to do, we’re a small team with nearly 350 employees, and as this is a remote role, you’ll need to be comfortable working independently and staying motivated
  • A good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Our benefits

  • Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum
  • Location: Remote with occasional travel to our Bromsgrove and St Ives (Cambridgeshire) offices
  • Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week from 9am – 5:30pm across Monday to Friday
