Job Title : Firing Floor Attendant

Grade : B1

Reports to : Boiler Superintendent

Department : Engineering (Boilers)

Main purpose of the job

• Lighting up and monitor combustion in the boiler furnace
• Inspect and dump boiler grate
• Execute routine checks of ash system, bagasse feeding system and coal feeding system; and clear any chokes
• Clear under grate chokes and conduct boiler operation routine cleaning work
• Report any defects and nonconformance.
• Ensure safety measures are carried out when executing any work

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12
• ITC Modules will be an advantage
• 2-3 years’ experience working in the Boilers

Personal Qualities

• Team player
• Ability to work under pressure
