MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

• Ensure SHEQ related matters are carried out with a sense of urgency
• Ensure plant availability is maintained safely at all times
• Prepare/ control budgets and manage costs effectively
• Coach and mentor team members to meet targets
• Preparation and implementation of standard operating procedures
• Liaise with sections to ensure reliable maintenance of the plant
• Engaging in projects from conceptualization to implementation and commissioning
• Providing project engineering expertise, problem solving and advice
• Assisting with the application of good engineering standards and practices
• Manage performance of teams and direct report

   QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. GCC factories certificate will be advantageous.
• Must have 5-10 years sound knowledge of projects and facilities engineering and also have experience in managing MOT’s.
• Project management professional (PMP) status will be considered an asset
• Experience in leading teams in a unionised environment will be an added advantage – discipline management and enforcement.
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, projects, access and spread sheet knowledge
• Strong theoretical/practical base in project engineering.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently – as well as in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Analytical and dynamic minded, passionate about continuous improvement, performance and results driven.
• Able to operate in a complex and highly pressurised environment, excellent interpersonal and networking ability, team player, innovative, excellent leadership and co-ordination skills.
