Job Title: Garage Door Enginer (Level 2 Engineer)

Salary: £30k to £36k per annum (DOE)

Location: Reading

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Monday – Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm

Our client is looking for a Residential & Commercial Door Engineer who will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all door types, including Canopy, Retractable, Side-Hung, Roller, and Sectional doors. The role covers both manual and automated systems and requires a strong technical understanding of door mechanisms. If you are looking for your next opportunity in this field, we invite you to apply

Key Responsibilities

  • Install a minimum of two doors per day in line with the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Ensure all work is signed off by the customer upon completion, with a full demonstration and handover provided for each installation.
  • Carry out repairs on both new and existing
  • Demonstrate competence in the use of sealants, mastic, and materials such as timber and UPVC.
  • Complete all work efficiently and to a high standard, minimising the need for remedial work or call-backs.
  • Any remedial work or call-backs resulting from negligence must be completed in the engineer’s own time.
  • Collect materials daily from local suppliers, including UPVC and timber, as required.
  • Provide all customers with an estimated time of arrival prior to attending site.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to your line manager before leaving the site.

As a customer-facing representative, you are expected to be well-presented at all times. This includes wearing a full, clean, and professional uniform, along with safety boots.

  • Company vehicles must be maintained in accordance with company vehicle procedures and kept clean at all times. The driver is responsible for ensuring that loads are secure and transported safely, without causing damage to the vehicle or its contents.
  • During loading and unloading, general waste must be placed in the provided skips in a cost-effective manner. All steel and old doors are to be returned to the manufacturer for recycling, using the provided stillages. Any double doors must be cut in half to fit securely on the stillages.
  • General housekeeping is expected at all times, including cleaning up after yourself and assisting with warehouse duties as needed.
