Main purpose: To monitor and report on operational risk to SIU business unit support departments. To formulate and implement risk strategies and mitigating plans to manage risk exposure and to coordinate risk mitigation across the entire organization.

Minimum qualification and experience: B Degree in Business Commerce or equivalent (NQF 7). Member of Institute of risk SA (IRMSA). Five (5) years’ experience in Risk Management. Two (2) years’ management / supervisory experience.

Key performance areas (include but not limited to): Departmental Planning and Implementation. Risk  Assessment. Risk Management and Monitoring. Staff Management

Technical skills: Analytical. Communication. Conflict Management. Interpersonal .Presentation. Management .Risk Management. Report writing. Planning and organizing, Relationship management.

Required knowledge and behavior (include but not limited to):  Sound Knowledge of Risk management. Principles and best practice e.g. ISO31000. Sound knowledge of applicable legislation. Understanding of the public sector risk profile. Sound knowledge of risk and assurance related systems. Knowledge of business continuity management principles. Knowledge of financial principles. Advanced MS Office proficiency. Attention to detail. Collaborative. Deadline driven. Results oriented. Influential. Integrity.
