Senior Design Engineer
This is a specialist senior role within the engineering team. The senior engineer
offers support and technical leadership to clients and colleagues as well as
having ownership of designated tasks.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide customer and internal technical support on valve operation,
specification, and engineering issues.
• Carry out technical reviews on project designs and assist group
colleagues on technical project requirements.
• Carry out FEA and CFD calculations where required.
• Where required, take ownership of specialist and bespoke design projects.
• Advise client engineers on routine valve issues.
• Where pertinent carry out field asset surveys, including in conjunction with
technical specialists, analysis of diagnostic reviews, criticality studies &
failure mode analysis.
• Prepare Level 3 reports in conjunction with technical specialists and
discuss options with clients as required.
• Provide input into designs for retrofit and upgrade programs.
• Ad-hock design activities where necessary.
• Looking at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
• Administrate and where pertinent carry out dimensional and condition
surveys.
• To show a responsibility and compliance to the Business Management System,
including all relevant procedures and work instructions.
• Ensure product output delays are minimised, through effective engineering support
to production operations.
Education and/or Experience:
Higher National Certificates/Diplomas or equivalent from college; with a
minimum of 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of pressure equipment & standards
Proven problem-solving skills
Proven background in mechanical engineering
