PROMAN UK are recruiting a Cost Controller to join our client's Marine and Tunnelling team, working across our London and Suffolk offices, supporting the delivery of one of the UK’s most important low-carbon infrastructure projects.

As Cost Controller, we are looking for someone who will take ownership of financial compliance on the project — ensuring that project costs are accurately recorded, analyzed, and reported in line with client's rigorous governance procedures. This includes working closely with teams across Commercial, Production, Finance, and Cost Control to drive accountability and visibility of spend throughout the project lifecycle.

In this role, you will:

  • Support monthly cost closing, including accruals, cost re-allocations, and invoice reviews
  • Track and review costs against budgets and forecast end-of-site quantities
  • Monitor and investigate variances in cost and productivity across multiple workstreams
  • Prepare and review monthly cost control reports with the Production team
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting cycles
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes for subcontractor and supplier orders
  • Help resolve any cost discrepancies or supplier account issues as they arise

You will play a key part in creating a culture of cost-conscious decision-making and will need to be confident engaging across disciplines to fully understand the scope and progress of ongoing works.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong experience in cost control or finance within a complex engineering or construction environment
  • Understands project cost drivers and how to communicate them clearly and effectively
  • Can build strong working relationships with Production, Commercial, and Finance teams
  • Works well under pressure and to reporting deadlines
  • Ideally has experience using Edifice or similar cost control systems

This is a great opportunity to work on one of the UK's largest infrastructure programmes in a role that offers challenge, impact, and long-term career potential.
