Job Title: Recycling Supervisor / Skilled Recycling Operative

Location: Elland, HX5.

Hours :

• Nights - Friday + Saturday night 10pm - 6am
• AM - Saturday + Sunday 6am - 2pm
• PM - Saturday + Sunday 2pm-10pm

Pay rate : £12.50 - £13.50 depending on experience and skillset.

Job Overview:

Our client based in Elland is seeking a motivated and hands-on Recycling Supervisor/Skilled Recycling Operative to oversee daily operations within their recycling facility. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth running of production, maintain safety standards, and support a productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of recycling operatives on shift.

• Monitor and manage the sorting and processing of recyclable materials.

• Ensure all health & safety procedures are followed at all times.

• Carry out basic quality checks and ensure contamination levels remain within acceptable limits.

• Report any breakdowns or operational issues to management promptly.

• Maintain accurate records of shift activities and production data.

• Promote a clean, safe, and organised working environment.

Key Requirements:

• Previous supervisory experience in a recycling, waste management, or manufacturing environment preferred.

• Strong awareness of health and safety practices.

• Good communication and leadership skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.

• Flexible and adaptable approach to shift work and duties.

• Forklift licence (desirable but not essential).
