Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Level 2 Network Engineer to support and maintain our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will handle escalated technical issues, perform network monitoring and troubleshooting, and assist in implementing network upgrades and changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Stronger technical networking experience with in-depth skills in LAN/WAN and MPLS environments and hands-on experience in overall day to day network troubleshooting.
  • Provide second-level technical support for network-related incidents and requests escalated from Level 1 support.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems with routers, switches, firewalls and other network infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve LAN/WAN, wireless and VPN connectivity issues.
  • Maintain and update network documentation, diagrams, and change management records.
  • Assist in the implementation and deployment of new networking hardware, software and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers for troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and provide recommendations for permanent fixes.
  • Participate in scheduled on-call rotations and after-hours support as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices in network configurations

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in network support or engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG).
  • CCNA or equivalent certification preferred.

Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment. Familiarity with firewalls, wireless controllers and load balancers.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Airwaves Aruba, ControlUp). Working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux environments.
  • LAN/WAN and MPLS environments
