Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in a host, hostess, reception or guest-facing role within hotels or upmarket fine dining restaurants
• Experience within a restaurant, hotel or high-volume environment preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Well-presented with a professional and friendly approach
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
• South African ID or valid work permit

What You’ll Be Doing

Creating the First Impression

• Welcome guests to the restaurant with warmth, confidence and professionalism
• Create a positive and inviting atmosphere from the moment guests arrive
• Ensure every guest feels acknowledged, valued and comfortable

Managing the Flow of Service

• Manage reservations, waitlists and table allocations efficiently
• Escort guests to their tables and ensure they are comfortably seated
• Communicate clearly with the restaurant and kitchen teams to maintain smooth service flow

Enhancing the Guest Experience

• Handle guest enquiries and special requests with care and attention
• Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming host station and entrance area
• Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner to enhance their overall experience

Supporting the Team

• Work closely with the service team to ensure a seamless dining experience
• Step in where needed to support busy service periods
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused working environment
