Because every great stay begins with a leader who owns the front desk and runs the shift like a pro.

At The President Hotel, the front desk is more than just check-ins and check-outs, it’s where first impressions are made, problems are solved, and memorable stays begin. As we continue our journey toward luxury, we’re looking for a Front Office Shift Leader (Senior Receptionist/Supervisor) who can confidently take charge of the desk, lead the team, and keep everything running like clockwork.

If you know your way around OPERA PMS like a second language, thrive in a fast-paced hotel environment, and enjoy leading a team while still being hands-on with guests, this role is for you.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
• Hospitality qualification or diploma (advantageous)
• Minimum 3 to 4 years’ experience within a hotel front office
Proven experience leading or supervising reception shifts
Strong, hands-on OPERA PMS experience (you must be confident and fast on the system)
• Strong computer literacy, including OPERA PMS and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Professional grooming and presentation
• CV must be fully updated prior to submission

What You’ll Be Doing

Running the Shift Like a Pro

• Take full ownership of the Front Office during your shift
• Lead and support the reception team to keep operations smooth and efficient
• Manage check-ins and check-outs seamlessly using OPERA PMS
• Keep standards high, processes tight, and the team on track
• Be the go-to person when things need quick thinking and smart solutions

Creating Great Guest Experiences

• Welcome guests with confidence, warmth, and professionalism
• Handle VIP arrivals and special requests with ease
• Step in and resolve guest concerns before they become problems
• Stay visible on the floor, leading from the front, not behind a desk

Keeping Operations Tight

• Run structured shift handovers and team briefings
• Monitor arrivals, departures, room status, and daily reports
• Ensure billing accuracy, cashier controls, and smooth shift closures
• Work closely with Housekeeping and other departments to keep things flowing

Supporting Your Team

• Help train, guide, and support reception team members
• Keep the team motivated, focused, and accountable
• Step in where needed, no ego, just teamwork

Staying on Top of the Details

• Follow SOPs, financial controls, and reporting standards
• Keep admin accurate, organised, and up to date
• Support audits and operational checks when required

Why Join The President Hotel

• Be part of a team that genuinely cares about guest experience
• Work in a high-volume, professional hotel environment
• Play a key role in our journey toward luxury
• Engage with a diverse international guest base
• Competitive salary, company contribution to medical and pension and great team culture
