Planet Fitness is looking for a Club General Manager who will be responsible for the overall performance, operations, and member satisfaction of the club. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage all facets of club operations while also applying regional personal training expertise to grow the club’s PT revenue, elevate the quality of coaching, and mentor the fitness team.


Key Responsibilities:

Club Operations & Leadership (70%)

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

  • Drive club performance through member acquisition, retention, and exceptional service delivery.

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team (sales, front desk, cleaning, fitness).

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and SOPs.

  • Manage club financials including budgets, expenses, and payroll.

  • Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.

  • Report operational metrics and performance updates to regional leadership.

Regional Personal Training Oversight (30%)

  • Provide hands-on leadership to the club’s personal training department while supporting PT best practices regionally.

  • Coach and mentor Fitness Managers and Personal Trainers to meet PT revenue and service targets.

  • Implement systems to ensure quality of assessments, program design, and member engagement.

  • Identify training needs and deliver workshops or individual coaching sessions.

  • Drive regional PT strategy within the club, collaborating with other GMs to align on performance goals.


Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a leadership role within the fitness industry.

  • Proven track record as a Club or General Manager with additional experience in Regional PT or multi-site PT leadership.

  • Nationally recognized Personal Training certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, ISSA, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of club operations, sales, and member engagement strategies.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and people development skills.

  • Financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and KPIs.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
