We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Treasury Manager to lead treasury activities across the Group. This role is suited to a strategic and analytical finance professional with strong treasury expertise, sound regulatory knowledge, and the ability to provide clear financial insight to support decision-making.

The successful candidate will be responsible for cash visibility, forecasting, risk mitigation across foreign exchange, interest and fuel exposures, regulatory compliance, treasury reporting, stakeholder engagement, and continuous process improvement. This position also plays an important leadership role in guiding the treasury team and aligning treasury operations with broader business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

The role will include responsibility for:

  • Preparing and reviewing treasury reports, cash flow forecasts, exchange rate analysis, and supporting financial presentations for management and governance forums.
  • Analysing foreign exchange exposures and related treasury instruments, including their impact on cash flows and funding.
  • Conducting scenario analysis to assess foreign exchange, interest rate, and fuel-related risk across the Group.
  • Reviewing forecasts, identifying trends or anomalies, and providing insight to senior finance leadership.
  • Preparing monthly treasury presentations and committee papers covering liquidity, debt position, covenant compliance, and key treasury risks.
  • Overseeing daily and monthly cash flow reporting processes to ensure timely, accurate, and useful information for Group and divisional teams.
  • Monitoring debt covenants and ensuring reporting obligations to lenders are met.
  • Developing and maintaining treasury policies, procedures, and controls in line with legislation, best practice, and business requirements.

In addition, the successful candidate will oversee treasury execution activities, support compliance with SARB, SARS and related regulatory requirements, manage banking and stakeholder relationships, drive treasury process improvements, and provide leadership, coaching, and direction to the treasury team.

Technical Competencies:

  • Short-, medium-, and long-term forecasting and liquidity management.
  • Debt and funding management, including facilities and covenant oversight.
  • Extensive operational treasury knowledge.
  • Financial risk management across foreign exchange, interest rate, and commodity exposures.
  • Treasury systems knowledge, including data analysis, information extraction, and report development.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Sound knowledge of treasury policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BCom Honours or an equivalent qualification is essential; CA(SA) will be advantageous.
  • 5 to 7 years of treasury experience is essential, including proven exposure to the full treasury function and experience managing a treasury team.
  • Demonstrated experience in hedging foreign exchange, interest rate, and fuel exposures, with sound commercial and technical understanding.
  • Experience with treasury systems, including IT2, will be preferred.
