Purpose of the role:
To minimise credit risk and manage cash inflow of the organisation by ensuring the accuracy, completeness and compliance of processes.

Key Responsibilities

Verification

Purchase orders:
• Verify & approve daily
• All relevant documentation and departmental approvals are included
• Accurate
• Complete
• In accordance with VAT Act

Trading term credit notes:
• Review and approve the schedule and calculations for capture
• Within 24 hours of receiving the schedule

Master data report:
• Review changes for the month.
• Ensure that the report has been verified by approvers
• Correct allocation or assignments

Master Data

Customer credit limits:
• Review and approve new or amended credit limits
• In accordance with the debtor’s policy

Queries

Escalated queries addressed:
• Professional and within agreed time frame
• Highlighting queries to sales executive & relevant customer management

Reporting

Age analysis reconciled to the General Ledger:
• Review and approve.
• As per month end guidelines

Agent commission:
• Review and approve commission calculations
• 2 days after month end close off

Cash flow:
• Review weekly cash flow for accurate and up to date information.
• Completed weekly on a Thursday

Month-end processing:
• Month end journals processed in accordance with month end deadlines

Month-end

Debtors reports & exception reports:
• Review and approve
• As and when received

Insurance reconciliation:
• Completed as per month end deadlines

CGIC management:
• Review and approve declaration calculations in line with CGIC policy and rates
• Address all queries from CGIC with regards to additional information

Quarterly reports:
• Accurate completion of provisions for approval by Financial Director
• Subsequent receipts information to be provided as per OGL deadlines

People Management

Employee performance managed:
• In line with relevant Group policy
• Role profiles to be in place for all employees
• Appropriate corrective action taken for non-performers

Employee growth & development
• Ensuring a relevant PDP in place for all team members
• Advise individuals on career paths and encourage pro-active development of skills and capabilities and provide mentoring to support professional development
• Set and continually manage expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members / stakeholders / Customers
• Develop trusted advisor relationship with internal and external customers
• Lead, motivate, and guide the team to the highest level of performance
• Support team with special projects and workflow process improvements

• Bcom Degree
• 5+ years related experience
• Managing a team
