EME currently looking for suitable candidates to fill the following vacancy:

Chief Marine Engineer

Responsible in managing the engine department on the vessel and reports to the Master for all matters concerning engine department.  Responsible for the overall performance and maintenance of the vessel mechanically.  

Minimum Requirements & Duties

• Namibian citizenship
• STCW 95 F Class 1/2 Certificate Chief Engineer Unlimited CoC
• Minimum of 10 years extensive seagoing experience as a Chief Engineer
• Experience on Meridian vessel/large ex-Soviet built factory freezer trawlers is added advantage.
• Strong understanding of relevant national & international Marine Legislation, in particular STCW 95 F as amended, SOLAS, ISM code, MARPOL and ISPS regulations
• Demonstrate experience working with multinationals in a challenging environment
• Computer literate (Microsoft office proficient)
• Vessel repair experience,
• Strong communicator, leadership skills & attention to detail
• Fishing industry knowledge and able to work in fast paced environment
• Knowledge of speaking Russian language is an added advantage
