Assistant Accountant

The following position has become available at Lucky Star Operations, Stompneus Bay.

Key job Outputs:

Financial Management: Day-to-day accounting systems/transactions monitored and reviewed: General Ledger, GRIR Account, Debtors, Fixed Assets, Bank, Payroll, Charges Recoverable, Taxation. - Reconciliation of Intercompany Customer, Supplier and Loan accounts. - Intercompany confirmations - Intercompany revenue schedules - Journals prepared - General Ledger reconciliations prepare and compile - Ad Hoc schedules and tasks - Preparing information for purchase order - Daily clearing of bank accounts.

Reporting and Audits: - Input to monthly and annual audit packs prepared. - Quarterly report packs compiled. - Year-end preparation and Year-end Audit deliverables - Assist with the compilation of Annual Financial Statements.

Budgets and Forecasts: Annual budgets and quarterly forecasts prepared.

Internal Controls: Internal controls implemented and monitored.

Knowledge, skills, and attributes: 

- SAP experience is required (2 years of experience working of the following modules: FI, AR, and AP) 

- Microsoft Office packages. 

- Microsoft excel – advanced level. 

- High degree of current technical accounting and taxation knowledge. 

- Analytical thinking and problem solving. 

- High regard for accuracy.

- Detail conscious. 

- Excellent Interpersonal communication skills. 

- Ability to apply initiative, good judgement, and creative thinking. 

- Good business acumen. 

- Ability to work under pressure and be deadline driven.

Required Qualifications and Experience: 

BCom (Accounting) Degree or equivalent

Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in the Fishing or FMCG environment
