Main Purpose:
Reporting to the CPO of the Group, the Manager: Group Reward is responsible for assisting with the development of and implementing reward strategies that align with the organization's objectives and support employee attraction, retention, and motivation. This role focuses on remuneration, benefits, wellness, job evaluation, and role profiling to ensure a competitive and fair reward system.
Key Responsibilities:
Reward Strategy, Policy and Procedure
- Work closely with the CPO and leadership team to develop and implement the pay and reward strategy for the group
- Assist with the development of and implement current and new reward policies and procedures for the Group
- Assist with the development of, implement and manage expatriate/international remuneration policies
- Manage programmes such as variable compensation, health insurance, disability, life insurance, retirement plans etc.
- Work with and manage outputs of reward and compensation consultants where required
Job evaluation and Job analysis
- Work with HR Business Partners to ensure role profiles are updated and reviewed on a regular basis across the group
- Review and validate the job evaluation outcomes in line with the relevant job evaluation system methodology as and when required
Reward Processes, Systems and Programmes
- Manage end to end the Group’s Long Term and Short-Term incentive plans in line with the approved plan rules.
- Ensure alignment of incentive/reward elements with culture, strategy and operational imperatives on an annual basis.
- Manage the annual salary review process for the Group in line with the approved mandate from the Remuneration Committee (REMCOM) across all employee categories including Executive Remuneration.
- Assist with the development of pay systems that are competitive and enable management to focus on and reward individual and organizational performance
- Review and recommend salary increases and advise management on compensation actions for employees
- Manage the STI and LTI Models on a quarterly basis and work closely with Group Finance
- Manage the salary forecast process for the Group on a quarterly basis.
- Manage the share-based payment notes and directors’ remuneration disclosures of the annual financial statements (AFS) for the various statutory entities of the Group
- Conduct regular market benchmarking and salary surveys to inform compensation decisions
- Manage input to both internal and external auditors and manage remediation of any findings
Reward Management Forums, Reporting and activity management
- Work with finance, legal and tax departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance
- Prepare papers for inclusion in the REMCOM meetings packs
- Work closely with the consultants of the various Oceana funds
- Work with consultants to draft the annual Remuneration report for REMCOM approval and inclusion in the Integrated Report
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Identify and drive the communication and sharing of learning across functions to facilitate continuous improvement
- Lead divisional projects and initiatives to drive efficiencies and integration of relevant reward and benefits processes.
- Ensures that HR services are provided as appropriate to internal client needs, identifies new opportunities where HR can add value, and maintains leading-edge knowledge of rewards and benefits management issues
Wellness
- Oversee the development and execution of the Group wellness strategy and develop an activity-based wellness calendar
- Manage the Wellness portfolio and approve initiatives in line with the wellness calendar
- Ensure optimal utilization of Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) throughout the Group by partnering with the appointed EAP service provider.
Management
- Actively fosters a good working environment with HR and consultants; builds effective team relationships
- Creates conditions to enable the team to perform at its best; acts to build a team setting clear direction, providing appropriate structure, recruitment of the right people if required.
- Provides the support needed to the team in respect of personal development and coaching, as required
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
- Broad knowledge of HR concepts, practices and procedures.
- Keen attention to detail.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree or Diploma with 6 to 8 years related experience in the remuneration/compensation field (preferably a commercial qualification)
- Minimum SARA designation of Reward Specialist is required
- Experience of implementing HR & Reward Policies
- Experience of job evaluation schemes
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
