An established engineering and construction firm is seeking a Mechanical & Piping Project Engineer to lead and support the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of mechanical and piping systems for complex process plant projects-locally and abroad.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

Qualifications:

  • National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering.
  • Pr. Eng / Pr. Tech registration.
  • Postgrad in engineering/project management (beneficial).

 

Experience:

  • 5+ years in mechanical & piping engineering in industrial/construction environments.
  • Exposure to process plant design, multidisciplinary projects, and SHERQC.
  • Experience in HAZOP, cost control, and contract management.
  • EPCM Experience in the Burner & furnace Industry
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Navis or Aveva software

 

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and mechanical design standards.
  • Proficient in 2D/3D drawing review and BIM awareness.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, Teams/Zoom, and design collaboration tools.
  • Analytical, detail-focused, and effective under pressure.
  • Willing to travel locally and internationally.

 

Key Technical Responsibilities

  • Execute mechanical & piping design from concept to commissioning.
  • Develop and review specifications, datasheets, P&IDs, and PFDs.
  • Oversee mechanical systems: pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, vessels, fans, conveyors, gas cleaning units, etc.
  • Review and coordinate 2D/3D drawings and ensure BIM alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with piping and mechanical codes and safety regulations (OHS Act, MHSA).
  • Support FATs, inspections, and QA/QC processes.
  • Manage budgets, subcontractors, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to meet schedule and design goals.
