Job Description

A beverage manufacture and distributor in South Africa, has a permanent employment opportunity for an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst, based in East London, Eastern Cape.

They are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to join the team, to provide actionable insights through data analysis, enabling strategic decision-making and performance improvement across categories, brands, stores, and manufacturing operations as well as logistics. The Business Intelligence Analyst will leverage business intelligence tools and methodologies to forecast trends, monitor performance, and support commercial, supply chain, and logistics initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyse category data including volume, NIS, market share, pricing, forward share, anddistribution, and take corrective action where applicable
  • Study historical sales data to forecast future trends and provide strategic recommendations
  • Track store-level performance and develop remedial action plans to ensure growth
  • Provide monthly analytical reports highlighting category-specific opportunities and threats
  • Deliver accurate insights into key category and brand performance using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL)
  • Support internal stakeholders with dashboards and visualizations to enhance decisionmaking
  • Ensure execution of category and sales initiatives in line with agreed processes and procedures
  • Assist in budget planning and evaluation of cost-saving initiatives
  • Maintain professional and consistent communication with internal departments and thirdparty service providers
  • Support in leading team sessions to explain sales trends and introduce new strategies
  • Design and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools & NetSuite
  • Automate data extraction and reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Conduct root cause analysis on performance deviations and provide strategic insights
  • Develop and maintain KPIs to measure success across categories, brands, and manufacturing operations
  • Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to analyze operational data and identifyoptimization opportunities
  • Generate reports on inventory levels, production efficiency, and logistics performance
  • Support scenario planning and sensitivity analysis for manufacturing and supply chain strategies
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting processes, and analytical methodologies
  • Lead initiatives to enhance BI capabilities and promote a data-driven culture
  • Train internal stakeholders on BI tools and data interpretation
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging BI technologies to recommend innovativesolutions

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field
  • Proven experience in data analysis, preferably in a retail, manufacturing, or FMCG environment
  • Proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Power BI), Excel, and SQL
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with forecasting models and statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of category management and trade spend optimization will be advantageous
  • Familiarity with CRM, ERP systems, and manufacturing data platforms will be advantageous
