About the Role
We are seeking a skilled HR Operations Manager to join our Head Office team. This key position involves delivering outstanding Human Resources support across all business units and product lines nationwide, ensuring compliance with labour legislation, company policies, and procedures, whilst supporting our strategic HR objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Employee Relations & Dispute Management
- Oversee disciplinary processes across regions, ensuring strict adherence to the Company’s Code of Conduct.
- Represent the Company effectively in disputes at the CCMA and Labour Court.
- Keep line management informed of updates to disciplinary procedures based on CCMA and Labour Court rulings.
- Act as the primary representative in trade union engagements and maintain ongoing employee communication.
- Participate in collective bargaining and ensure compliance with wage agreements.
- Provide training and guidance to regional management on organisational structure development.
2. Talent Acquisition & Resourcing
- Collaborate with regional management to identify recruitment needs, trends, and challenges.
- Ensure comprehensive HR planning to align recruitment with approved organisational structures.
- Oversee vetting, screening, and administration processes to guarantee accurate rostering workflows.
- Manage employment practises in line with the company’s remuneration policy.
3. Employee Engagement & Change Management
- Lead the implementation and completion of employee engagement surveys.
- Analyse survey results and work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and monitor action plans.
- Support business change initiatives on a project basis.
- Conduct follow-up surveys to evaluate progress on engagement actions.
4. Policy Compliance & HR Administration
- Monitor and audit regional adherence to company policies, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Manage HR administrative resources and documentation effectively.
- Ensure HR filing and records comply with legal requirements and company standards.
5. Employee Life Cycle & Training
- Plan and manage induction training for all new employees, including wage and salary staff.
- Ensure thorough onboarding with 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins for new management and support personnel.
- Compile training schedules and oversee delivery via Regional Training Officers.
- Foster a culture of mutual accountability between employees and line managers.
6. Employment Equity (EE) Management
- Ensure full compliance with the Employment Equity Act, including the development, submission, and implementation of the EE Plan.
- Coordinate and submit accurate annual EE reports (EEA2, EEA4) to the Department of Labour.
- Facilitate the EE Committee and conduct regular stakeholder consultations.
- Monitor targets, implement corrective actions to eliminate unfair discrimination, and lead diversity awareness campaigns.
- Conduct internal audits of HR processes to identify and remove systemic barriers.
7. Staff Management & Succession Planning
- Ensure direct reports have clear job profiles, performance contracts, and regular performance reviews.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to help meet operational goals.
- Develop comprehensive development plans for each team member.
- Drive Talent and Succession Planning initiatives to meet future business needs.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Qualifications
- Relevant degree in HR Management, LLB, or BCom Law.
Experience
- Minimum five years’ experience as an HR practitioner.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale recruitment campaigns.
- Desirable: Experience within a blue-collar, labour management environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
- In-depth knowledge of South African labour legislation and Security Industry legislation.
- Strong financial acumen, particularly in cost control and budgeting.
- Expertise in HR systems, policies, and best practises.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage conflict, and drive organisational change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on achieving objectives and strategy.
- Outstanding collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient IT skills.
