Interaction Education are really pleased to currently be working with a great school in Luton, Bedfordshire in their search for a Caretaker on a 12 week temp to perm contract.

This role would suit someone with previous experience in this role or very similar, and someone who understands the interworkings of the school. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become permanent with the school after a period of 12 weeks.

The key responsibilities for this role are as follows:

Job Summary:

The School Caretaker is responsible for the maintenance, security, and cleanliness of the school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Open and close the school premises daily, including unlocking gates, doors, and switching on lights/heating.

• Carry out basic maintenance and repairs (e.g., changing lightbulbs, minor plumbing).

• Ensure the school is clean, tidy, and well-maintained.

• Monitor and maintain heating, lighting, and alarm systems.

• Manage waste disposal and recycling.

• Oversee contractors working on site.
