Pay: Up to £16.00 per hour (based on experience)

Job Title: CNC Lathe Setter Operator

Hours: 39 hours per week

• Monday to Wednesday: 07:30 – 16:30

• Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00

• Friday: 07:30 – 13:00

Reports To: Machine Shop Supervisor

Role Overview

As a CNC Lathe Setter Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating 2 and 3 axis lathes, producing small to medium batches efficiently and to high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC lathes; programming experience is advantageous but not essential

• Inspect finished parts using various measuring instruments

• Conduct first-off inspections on machines

• Adjust machine settings confidently with minimal supervision

• Maintain tooling and replace inserts as needed

• Perform deburring operations as required

• Carry out basic machine maintenance

• Operate overhead cranes (training provided)

Requirements and Skills

• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating CNC lathes with Fanuc controls

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team

• Good understanding of technical drawings

• Strong adherence to health and safety regulations

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
