Practice Accountant - Marlow, Berkshire - £45,000 to £55,000 per year - On-Site
FryerMiles are delighted to be supporting a dynamic and ambitious accountancy firm on their recruitment of a Qualified Accountant to join their team in Marlow. This is a fantastic opportunity for an accountant to join a progressive, forward-thinking modern practice, working within their busy and friendly office environment.
The successful candidate will have 3+ year's experience in an accounting role, ideally within a practice.
Responsibilities Include:
- Helping manage a portfolio of clients
- Working mainly on Xero but also occasionally other accounting systems, Quickbooks, Sage etc
- Helping with client's bookkeeping and sales and purchase invoice processing
- Completion of bank & credit card reconciliations
- Posting monthly journals such as payroll, depreciation, accruals and prepayments along with month end procedures and reports
- Preparation of VAT calculations for different VAT schemes and submission of VAT returns
- Some scope for preparation of monthly management accounts
- Helping with preparation of year end accounts for Limited Companies and Sole Traders
- Liaising regularly with clients responding to queries and providing general assistance.
Requirements:
- Work to established processes and procedures
- Have great interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and numerical reasoning
- You should be methodical with an eye for detail
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience delivering excellent service levels to clients
- Ability to work on own initiative unsupervised
- Ability to work to strict deadlines
