Senior Business Analyst - SC Clearance required – 6 Month Contact - £450 - £500 per day (Outside IR35) – Remote, occasional travel to London
FryerMiles is delighted to be supporting a leading innovative technology consultancy within the UK public sector on the recruitment of an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join the team on an initial 6 month contract. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will design and deliver structured capability evaluations, engage operational users, manage supplier relationships, gather evidence and produce robust recommendations that can inform significant investment and procurement decisions.
This role would suit a Business Analyst who enjoys discovery, complex stakeholder environments, structured analysis and evidence-based decision making, rather than traditional software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead discovery workshops with operational stakeholders.
- Identify and document business, user and operational requirements.
- Translate operational needs into structured evaluation criteria.
- Develop realistic operational use cases for technology trials.
- Refine requirements and evaluation approaches as findings emerge.
Trial Design & Delivery
- Support the planning, mobilisation and delivery of controlled technology trials.
- Coordinate activities across multiple technology suppliers.
- Ensure evidence is collected consistently and objectively.
- Maintain comparability between competing solutions.
- Manage day-to-day engagement with suppliers throughout capability trials.
Evaluation & Analysis
- Analyse supplier performance against agreed success criteria.
- Gather, assess and synthesise evidence from trials and stakeholders.
- Identify operational benefits, risks and implementation considerations.
- Produce evidence-led recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Contribute to final assessments and independent evaluation reports.
Stakeholder Management
- Build effective relationships with operational users and senior stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops, feedback sessions and review meetings.
- Present complex findings clearly and concisely.
- Manage feedback loops between operational users and technology suppliers.
Governance & Reporting
- Support risk management, governance and assurance activities.
- Maintain clear traceability between user needs, evaluation criteria and findings.
- Produce project documentation, evidence packs and evaluation artefacts.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting inputs.
- Contribute to final assessment reports and investment recommendations.
Essential Experience
- Senior Business Analysis within complex public sector programmes.
- Designing and facilitating stakeholder workshops.
- Gathering and analysing evidence in a structured environment.
- Supporting or delivering pilots, proof-of-concepts or technology trials.
- Supplier engagement, assessment and evaluation.
- Translating business and operational needs into clear requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Working with senior stakeholders in complex and potentially sensitive environments.
Experience within one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:
- Central Government
- National Security
- Home Office environments
- Open Source Intelligence (OSINT)
- Technology capability evaluation
