Internal Auditor- Basingstoke, Hampshire - £50,000 - £60,000 + benefits (Hybrid 2 days in the office)

FryerMiles is working with a leading Professional Services organisation who are looking to hire an experienced Internal Auditor on a permanent basis. This role sits within a best practice / quality function and is responsible for managing, planning, and performing internal audits across the organisation, including compliance reviews of case or project files.

The role is critical in ensuring internal controls are effective and that quality-focused processes are operating as intended, supporting the organisation in achieving its strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will have broad experience in planning and leading audits across financial and operational controls and will be skilled in identifying practical control improvements and communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Experience using data analytics to enhance assurance and insight is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the annual audit plan and report progress to senior management
  • Plan and deliver internal audits in line with recognised professional and internal quality standards
  • Agree practical and proportionate improvement actions with management
  • Contribute to the development of a risk-based audit plan
  • Communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Use data analytics and visualisation tools to present audit insights
  • Provide ad hoc control advice to teams and projects
  • Deliver ad hoc audits in response to emerging risks and management requests
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the organisation

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience planning and performing a wide range of audits to high-quality standards
  • Strong knowledge of risk and control theory and practice
  • Knowledge of management system frameworks (e.g., quality and environmental standards) is desirable
  • Graduate-level education or equivalent professional experience is desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to different audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively
