Are you a compliance-driven professional with experience in food manufacturing and a passion for doing things the right way?

We’re recruiting for a fast-growing, quality-led food business in Nottingham.  As the Technical & Health and Safety Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of this ambitious company, ensuring the highest levels of food safety, site compliance, and health & safety culture are embedded across all operations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead compliance strategy while staying close to the action — balancing documentation and regulatory readiness with hands-on factory engagement.

To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing compliance
  • Familiarity with food safety standards such as BRCGS, HACCP, and Food Hygiene Regulations
  • NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent H&S qualification
  • Experience managing regulatory audits and technical documentation
  • Excellent communication, training, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • A hands-on, proactive attitude and attention to detail

Within this position, you’ll also be:

  • Leading and maintaining site-wide compliance with food legislation
  • Managing and improving the QMS, HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, and allergen control systems
  • Developing a high-standard food safety culture through training, mentoring and leadership
  • Ensuring continuous audit readiness and acting as the main contact for FSA, EHO, Defra, and APHA
  • Driving process improvements and root cause analysis across food safety and H&S
  • Managing health and safety systems, risk assessments, and documentation
  • Supporting supplier approval, raw material specifications, and quality control processes
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with QA, Production, Engineering, and external partners
  • Playing a strategic role in system development while maintaining a regular floor presence

Hours and Salary

  • Upto £50,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday – some occasional availability for audits/projects
