Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
  • Plan and develop creative schemes of work that inspire students of all abilities.
  • Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression through a variety of media and techniques.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including exhibitions, displays, and extracurricular activities.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student achievement and wellbeing.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching Art at secondary level is preferred.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for creative arts education.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check and professional references.
