Position: MFL Teacher (Spanish)
Location: Portsmouth
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Long‑term until Easter 2026, with potential continuation until July 2026
Pay: £168 – £250 per day (experience dependent)


About the Role

We are seeking a passionate MFL Teacher specialising in Spanish to join a well‑established and supportive secondary academy. The position starts immediately and will run until Easter, with the strong possibility of extension through to July 2026.

You will be teaching Spanish across KS3 and KS4, including supporting GCSE learners as they prepare for exams. High‑quality schemes of work and resources are already in place, enabling you to focus on delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

Both experienced teachers and ECTs are welcome to apply. Overseas‑trained teachers with solid knowledge of the UK curriculum will also be considered.

The role is based at a dynamic 11–16 academy School in a Portsmouth for students aged from 11 to 16 years. Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Recent experience teaching Spanish in UK secondary settings
  • Confident delivering KS3 and KS4 lessons, including GCSE preparation
  • Strong classroom management and relationship‑building skills
  • Enthusiastic about language learning and delivering culturally rich lessons
  • Collaborative, flexible, and keen to contribute to the wider MFL department
