A vibrant, diverse and welcoming junior school near the centre of Southampton, is looking for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support whole class teaching, develop caring and supportive relationships with children and provide class over should the teacher be absent.

This long-term role begins ASAP, with potential to go permanent for the right candidate.

Applicants must hold an HLTA qualification, CACHE Level 3 in Education, or an Education Degree.

Key responsibilities for this Higher-Level Teaching Assistant role are:

  • To be able to adapt planning and resources to suit the needs of the group and individuals
  • To step into the role of the teacher at points to deliver lessons if a teacher is absent or on PPA
  • Take part in collaborative planning and assessment
  • Be confident to support individuals with additional needs
  • Be an active member of the wider school community

The minimum requirements for this Higher Level  Teaching Assistant role are:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • 2 Years’ worth of references
  • A current DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
  • Have an HLTA qualification/a level 3 CACHE certification/ a degree in education
