Food Technology Teacher – Secondary School (KS3 & KS4)

Location: Southampton (near Totton)
Start Date: After Easter 2026
Contract: Summer Term (until July 2026)
Pay: £160 – £250 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm | Full-Time


Position Overview

Supply Desk is supporting a secondary school in the Southampton area to recruit a Food Technology Teacher for the summer term, starting after the Easter break and continuing until July 2026.

You will be joining a creative and supportive Design & Technology team committed to high‑quality teaching, practical learning and developing students' skills, confidence, and love for cooking and nutrition.

This role is suitable for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners who are enthusiastic about delivering engaging practical lessons.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver inspiring, practical Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Teach a curriculum that promotes creativity, independence and healthy lifestyles
  • Plan, assess and monitor student progress
  • Support departmental development and contribute to wider school initiatives
  • Maintain a positive learning environment with high expectations for behaviour and engagement

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Food Technology, Design & Technology or a closely related subject
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (preferred)
  • Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 & KS4
  • Strong practical lesson delivery and excellent organisation
  • High expectations of learners and a confident, approachable teaching style
