Year 1 Teacher mentor

Location: Southampton

 Start Date: ASAP – Easter

Contract: 5 days per week- full time

 Pay: Paid to scale (£168 – £233 per day)

About the Role:

A smaller than average 1 form entry primary school in the Southampton area is seeking a short-term teacher mentor to support an ECT in Year 1 to boost teaching and learning levels within the classroom.

You will be co teaching, supporting with planning, giving ideas and insight into teaching, introducing to helpful resources and strategies.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Primary Teacher with at least 5 years’ experience
  • Confident in managing classroom routines and expectations.
  • Able to coach and support a teacher in the first chapter of their teaching career
  • Skilled in adapting teaching to meet a range of pupil needs, including SEND
  • Consistent, adaptive and inclusive professionals

Requirements

  • UK-recognised teaching qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
  • Compliance with DfE and Safer Recruitment standards.
